Not done anything for ages...

It's hard finding the time to draw, or do anything productive with an eight month baby. But I managed to get a bit done today when she had a little nap.




It was all drawn and coloured in photoshop with a graphics tablet. I wanted it to have a water colour look, I like the lighting.

'Sailing' reboot and new blog header

Added more to a print I posted a few weeks ago. It started out as a totally new piece, but was missing something. I was ready to abandon the idea and start something fresh, but decided to combine it with another image and I think they work nicely together. A sailboat on a sea of leaves, and some folk chilling on clouds made of flowers. This image is now A2 in size.

I took part of the image and made it into a gif for my new header you see above.

Sailing...

This is the second in a series of prints I'm working on for an exhibition.



I sketched out the leaves and the boat first and fully coloured them, but felt something was missing. So, I added the feline character. I kept some of it fairly sketchy looking to give it a childlike feel. I wanted the colours to flow well with the print in my previous post. A boat on a wave of leaves is an old idea that I've tried before, I'm happier with the results this time.

The original PSD file of this is pretty damn big and it's taken some time to fill it all up.

I've drawn it all in photoshop with a graphics tablet and stylus. I think I'm gonna keep it black and white.

I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out, but might alter the top half a bit. Think I might fill it up like the bottom half. I'll post up a edited version soon!

Didn't spend too long on it really, drawn in photoshop with a graphics tablet.

So...

Decided to keep a blog up-to-date, so I stay productive. Want to try and do something every day, even if it's just a quick doodle, or at least finish one new piece a week.


I've only spent a couple of hours on this so far, I've kept the colours simple because I was thinking it'd make a nice tshirt print. I might add to it, think some of the lines could do with thickening up/tidying. Made it all in photoshop with a graphics tablet.
